Born in Toronto, Ont. Playing the drums from age 12 the rhythmic impulse intensified and at age of 20, Terry studied music at Berklee College of Music in Boston. At 23, played with the Boston Jazz Sextet for a summer in Amsterdam and continued to play the drums professionally for many years. ""A spirit of adventure is a great way to learn."" Much to his surprise at age 27 he was shown by mentor Kenneth G Mills that he had a voice. He continued his musical journey vocally, singing bass with the Star Scape Singers all across Europe (7 tours) & North America. Carnegie Hall (7 times), Lincoln Centre, Roy Thompson Hall, Radio Vatican in Rome. 17 Recordings in total. KG Mills who also painted, encouraged him to paint on canvas as one more artistic offering.
The Rhythmn, harmony & melody of music continues on a different palate of expression. The influence of music and world travels reflect in his love of colour, texture and varied styles of painting. Recent travels to New Brunswick & Georgian Bay show in his work. Art venues: Art Square Gallery, Toronto. Skylark Gallery & D-Fine Art, Bolton, Art in the park, Ottawa, Kleinburg Art Walk and private collections.
